for the surge of energy
to take the first step
that would plunge her
into the unknown
where she’d be someone new
someone, no one knew.
he came in her life
the bright light in the dark
he covered her naked vulnerability
with the sheet of his love
he kissed away the pain
healing the wounds
a fresh start -
that’s what he gave her
when she needed one
he stood with her -
facing the unknown
