sea waves crashed on the shore,
the setting sun coloured the sky orange,
people walked around her -
as she stood silent and still,
a rock on the rocky shore.
no one noticed the pain in her eyes
or the tears that stained her beautiful face
her long hair swaying in the wind
revealed and concealed the bruises on her back.
no one noticed it though,
no one had the time,
she was a nobody in the world of nobodies,
alone, scared and clueless -
of what the future would unfold.

he was not close enough to look in her eyes
but her body language told him she was sad
her long hair swaying in the wind
mesmerised him and made him fall in love again.
he thought of walking up to her
and starting a conversation,
but he stood frozen where he was, because -
he was a nobody and she was out of his league,
if she could just look at him once, he thought
he would know that he had a chance.
she felt she was being watched
and turned to look
their eyes met and that was it…
